Amongst rising stars of Pop/R&B music, Belinda Rio, carves a new place in the hearts and minds of her fans. As a little girl, Belinda was never shy in front of groups of people and loved to sing to Tina Turner's music, entertaining family with her fun and amusing act. Growing into womanhood, she pursued her passion for music leading church congregations in song and special performances. Inspired by the work of Anita Baker, Toni Braxton, Celin Dion, and Gloria Estefan, Belinda made the decision to take her passion to the next level. In 2002 she commenced her professional development studying song writing on her own, piano with Gabriela Vail, choreography with Olivia Gale, and receiving voice coaching from Judy Leonard. In 2005, Belinda performed before judges and was selected to the finals of the U.S.A. World Showcase held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was the only female sledcted from Florida in her category out of thousands of entries.
Belinda is building a grass-roots fan base through regional performances and personal appearances. In her words, Its not about the numbers for me, more than quality. I want fans to know me and I want to know them. She debuted as a recording artist with her first two singles Touch Me Now and "Player", and continues to write..record new songs for her debut album in early 2007. Filming on her first music video for the album's title song begins late 2006. Looking to make a splash, she is preparing for a Florida tour to promote her new album and grow her fan base; a multi-state tour is planned for 2008. With drive, determination, and help from friends, Belinda is on her way.
As the saying goes, "Innovation is the mother of invention", and when it comes to creativity Belinda Rio has it. Operating on a shoe string budget, Belinda and husband (manager), have single handedly launched her professional career taking on all aspects of the music business, including producing and self promoting her concerts.
