Lisa

The vivacious and talented soprano, Lisa Eden, who Plácido Domingo has described as “. . . a well rounded artist: she has a lovely voice, is an excellent actress, and a dedicated colleague,” knew from an early age that she was going to have a career in music. She recalls the day her parents brought home the family's first piano as one of the most thrilling and memorable of her young life. She was only three. She spent the next 15 years learning to play, writing her own songs, and entertaining family and friends for hours accompanying herself singing musical theater favorites, hymns, folk and pop songs, rock ballads, art songs, original works, opera arias - anything that could be sung, she played.
Since the time she graduated from college with honors in both piano and vocal performance, Lisa has devoted her life to singing - it is her primary passion and she delights in sharing this passion and love she feels for music with audiences. Colleague and friend, Gerald Perman, president emeritus of Vocal Arts DC, wrote of Lisa that, "...[we] were overwhelmingly impressed with the capabilities of this young singer. She possesses a large, warm voice which is exceptionally skilled in all the expressive and linguistic nuances we like to see in our artists. In addition her presentation and ability to 'hold' an audience are extraordinary."
Critics, too, have taken notice of these abilities. The Washington Post hailed, "From her first note, Eden displayed a warm velvety tone, and a dignified presence... the sheer beauty of Eden's sound would have been enough for a satisfying performance... Phrases like 'the night is clinging'[Amy Beach] and 'we will descend quietly and slowly'[Strauss] showcased her talents for communicating imagery and her thrilling dynamic facility." Lisa brings her talents to Bella Diva as singer, song-writer, and music director.

Shana

Tantalizing and accomplished soprano Shana Oshiro is a highly versatile vocal artist, specializing in classical voice with a background in musical theater, gospel/spirituals, and jazz. While a student, she toured with the world-renowned Morgan State University Choir, singing in prestigious venues, such as Strathmore and Carnegie Hall, with the Baltimore Symphony. She was a featured ensemble member in the Baltimore Symphony's Holiday Spectacular and also appeared in the concert, “Under the Covers: An Evening of Love Songs,” starring Chip Weinman and Sheena Easton. In addition to performing more broadly in concert recitals, Shana has also performed with Opera Philadelphia in productions of Porgy and Bess and Margaret Garner, starring mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves. In the Washington Savoyards' recent production of Joplin's Treemonisha, she both covered the title role as well as sang the role of Lucy.

Kara
Outgoing and spunky mezzo-soprano Kara Cornell has thrilled audiences around the country with her lush and beautiful voice. Her impeccable theatrics have critics hailing her as a “riveting actress”, portraying characters ranging from a "totally endearing" Cinderella to a "seductive, wounded, damaged and dangerous" Carmen. You’d think that Kara’s total comfort on stage was due to a long history in the spotlight, but this is not the case. If you can believe it, Kara did not sing in public until she was 15, due to terrible shyness! She obviously overcame this, and quickly started singing with every choir, and in every musical and opera that she could.
As a classically trained opera singer, Kara enjoys performing in operas and with orchestras, but often branches out beyond the classical world, performing in the musical theater, jazz and pop genres. Her passion for fusing classical music with a contemporary style has led her to sing lots of new works – she recently performed in the premiere of an “electronic opera” that was mixed by a DJ at a posh Manhattan Club! Kara loves experimenting with different styles of music, and her excitement is palpable to her audiences – it’s impossible to miss her electric smile when she's onstage!
