I created the Bellatrax project in the summer of 2006 after being asked to do a credible UK house remix of “Whatever” by Ferry Corsten for Tsunami records. The track was supported by many key DJs around Europe including Judge Jules who supported the track on his BBC Radio 1 show.
I then decided to take Bellatrax to the next level and produce the first single “I Can’t Help Myself”. The single was co-written by Sophia May and grammy award winning songwriter Bruce Elliott-Smith. The track was soon snapped up by Portugal’s Pure Funk Records, was remixed, and found its way into the boxes of many international club DJ’s. This is when the extremely well respected Italian house imprint Oxyd Records took an interest in the Bellatrax project, and licensed “I Can’t Help Myself’ with a view to making it an international hit.
The track was remixed by Laidback Luke, Sunfreakz, Henry John Morgan, and has had support from radio and club DJs all around the world, including a massive 3 months of plays on weekend Kiss FM, & support from Pete Tong and Judge Jules on Radio 1. The track also held the no.1 spot of the US Dance Airplay Chart for 3 consecutive weeks and has been featured on compilations such as Ministry's Clubbers Guide 2008 and Hed Kandi World Series etc. "I Can't Help Myself" was the 2nd most played dance record on US radio in 2008.
2009 has been a busy year so far with the follow up single featuring Tina Cousins "Can't Hold Back", Bellatrax remixes for Oxyd records, Nervous Records, Ultra Records, Strictly Rhythm, Island etc, as well as DJ gigs around the UK and across the atlantic @ Miami WMC and San Francisco. So far I have had 3 tracks in the top 10 of the UK Upfront Club Chart, loads of compilation inclusions around the globe including Ministry Of Sound and Euphoria compilations, productions playlisted on radio stations and shows all around the world including Kiss FM, BBC Radio 1, BBC 1xtra, BBC Asian Network, Galaxy, Hed Kandi, Radio 538 etc.
