Four guys trying to write songs they like. To start at the beginning: Justin McLaughlin (drums) and Josh Steinmann (bass/vocals) are classmates in kindergarten in Alton, Illinois. Jamal R.S. McLaughlin (guitar/vocals) is Justin's younger brother. He watches the other two grow up and perform in bands like All Rights Reserved and he learns to play guitar.
Several years later the three formed a group called Clear The Mechanism, and recorded an album titled "The Northern Lights." Clear The Mechanism could be found playing around the St. Louis area and resonating out of various basement practice spaces from 2001-2002. Josh decided to take time out from music so the McLaughlin brothers continued on with bands Cedar Obscura ('02-'04) & Everest ('04-'08). To make a long story short (too late) Josh is back in and they've added Justin and Jamal's cousin, Chris Ash ..board/vocals. We've since changed our name from Everest to Belleview. New packaging, same great band smell...
Belleview is based in Edwardsville, Illinois. With a melodic sound, they combine indie and alt-rock with pop sensibilities. The group's second album, "Meet Us Again", is a step in a new direction using more keyboard driven rock. Visit them online for free downloads.
oh goodness! thanks for the add guys. but to the point, i will let y'alls know when we get some songs up. we are in the process of recording so it wont be long.
we've got a handful of new songs and we are planning on writing some more to hopefully record sometime in the spring again for a new cd. how are things coming along with you guys?
and yeah, hopefully sometime in april we can play together!
