I'm a singer and musician, I listen to everything, and really appreciate music that is in some way harmonically and/or rhythmically complex and well orchestrated. I admit that I am primarily a ROCK chick. But I am a sucker for good lyrics, especially the type of artist who is thought-provoking.

But, what don't like? I DON'T like "twangy" country(i.e."Redneck Woman" *shudder*), or excessive "cookie monster" metal vocals, and 90% of the hip hop of the last few years (laffy taffy? grillz? wtf??? is pop culture now strictly for the brainless?) Creed and Nickleback...I HATE THEM. EVERY FRIGGIN'song sounds the SAME.
I did however grow up surrounded by classical music, opera and Broadway Musicals... I love Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Faure, Schubert, Debussy, Bernstein, Sondheim, A.L.Webber and more...

Comedies: The Big Lebowski, Team America, South Park B.L.U., Coming to America, Ace Ventura Pet Detective, Half Baked, Austin Powers, Monty Python's Holy Grail and Meaning of Life. Beerfest, Anger Management.
Dramas/action: Memoirs of a Geisha, Crash, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Schindler's List, Forrest Gump, Clockwork Orange, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, King Kong, Batman, Superman I & II, Children of Men, Pans Labyrinth.
Anything Stanley Kubrick.
I like anything with Robin Williams or Jim Carrey: two funny men who bloomed into wonderfully diverse actors.
I love fantasy movies from the 80's like Legend and Labyrinth and the Dark Crystal. Anything that provokes the imagination!
I also keep a special place in my heart for most Disney Animated and musical movies!

I love the Chemistry between the two actors, they are really good and portraying the complex emotional connection between Merideth Grey and Derek Shepherd. Here's a fan vid I stumbled upon with some of my fave moments between them.
It's the best stuff out there, period. But I always make time for cartoons! And most recently Inuyasha has caught my eye...hooray for adult swim! For Christmas I got SHE-RA Princess of Power on DVD...in all it's awesomely cheesy 80's-ness. I wanted to be her when I was a little girl!
Most of the stuff I want to watch is on DVD only nowadays...siiiiigh!
Also a new fan of The Riches with my boy Eddie Izzard in the lead role!

Meh...Harry Potter, is the only fun reading i've actually completed in the last few years...mostly reading non fic, learning about astrology, tarot, healing, etc. The Celestine Prophecy, A Wrinkle in Time.

I am a vibrant woman, who loves music above all things. I am a music teacher privately. But being the attention whore that I am, I spend my Monday, Thursday and Saturday nights DJing karaoke shows. I really enjoyed playing with Hemlok, a progressive/psychedelic rock outfit out of Providence. I love playing out, as well as collaborating with other musicians. I sing, play violin, viola and a bit on piano. I *heart* my Fender electric violin!
The only thing I love about as much as my music is my passionate and compassionate kindred spirit, Jonathan. If you are curious, I'll tell you our story of how life moves full circle...or just read my blogs. I couldn't be more satisfied with life.
My child-like imagination runs away with me sometimes, and I go through phases of obsessions. My recent music bents have been Opeth (swedish prog), Kate Havnevik (norwegian electronica, think "Bjork meets Dido"), Psapp (British electronic/eclectic) and Lacuna Coil (Italian Rock). It seems that if *isn't* American, it DOESN'T SUCK! My TV Obsession is Grey's Anatomy (Thursdays at 9pm on ABC). Oh yeah, and I will never stop loving cartoons and video games.
I write poetry and songs, and used to dabble in fanfiction, ...I love to laugh (just like Ed Wynn in Mary Poppins!) and tend to keep a stiff upper lip :) But I am not afraid to emote and bare my soul when so inspired to do so. I value open communication, honesty, fairness and equality, realism mixed with optimism, a healthy dose of imagination and creativity, and inner depth (mentally, spiritually and psychologically).
