  • Bio

"More than a hint of the great e.s.t. in the music but lots more besides - an intriguingly dark and compulsive canvas... Keep a look out for their live gigs because things are really beginning to happen for them, and deservedly so." Fiona Talkington, Radio 3 .. .. "Acerbic and arresting" - The Independent .. .. "Dark-yet-uplifting atmosphere and intensity" - Tord Gustavsen .. .. "At their best there is something of John Barry about their work, albeit John Barry for the dubstep age. Indeed the gig as a whole was akin to a soundtrack in search of a film… They're a band whose debut album should be eagerly anticipated" - theartsdesk.com .. .. "Marvellous. Beautiful compositions that breathe in and out with understanding" - Billy Jenkins .. .. "A really good way of playing music that has simplicity but isn't predictable. They are always were finding new ways to approach their instruments and their music" - Seb Rochford .. .. "Broodingly dark with more than a hint of menace at times, it's cinematic in that you could well imagine it playing behind film footage of the mentally ill - but then all of a sudden you're hit with the realisation that you are witnessing true beauty" - Source magazine .. .. "Like the soundtrack to a David Lynch film based in Europe rather than the American south" - Brighton Music Scene .. .. .. Bellows are a collective of musicians led by pianist Richard Brincklow and influenced by everyone from Krzysztof Komeda and EST to Robert Fripp and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. We have had repeated airplay on Radio 3's Late Junction and performed at venues from The Vortex and Cargo to the National Portrait Gallery and the Queen Elizabeth Hall (alright, the foyer) and played with acts like Polar Bear and Led Bib. The "Troop EP" was released in November 2009 on Cake/Candid to critical acclaim. We are currently looking for a home for our album "The Ship Goes Down" which has already been recorded and mastered. .. .. .. Press: john@airmtm.com ..
