Benjamin Chmura graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2001 with a B.F.A. in Fashion Design. His first independent fashion show, “Feral” was a collection of men’s wear inspired by the cult classic “Mad Max.” Benjamin was selected as one of four seniors by Andre Leon Talley, Vogue magazine Editor-at-Large, to discuss their work and career plans over dinner. In September 2001, Benjamin moved to New York where he lived for two years. During that time, he was employed at Fishman and Tobin working on the Sean John Denim Division. He also freelanced for such companies as TSE, Men’s Express, Ralph Lauren and American Eagle.
