So when you're trying to decide whether or not you want to drag yourself out to see some unknown play....just remind yourself that every musician was once an unknown, and that every musician who sells out arenas for hundreds of dollars per ticket once played somewhere for under ten bucks. And someone who paid hundreds of dollars to sit in the last row of an arena once turned down the chance to sit on the first row of a small venue for next to nothing. About me:
"We consider Ally, and her place Bend Studio, to be part of our musical family. The idea that she talked to me about in a Whole Foods parking lot has blossomed into something really beyond what any of us would have imagined, and much of that is due to the passion and unending energy that she puts into it. You can feel her spirit during the shows as much as that of the artists performing there. I think fans really should appreciate that she is running one of the few contemporary venues that isn't underwritten by beer sales, and that songs and the people that write them are cast pretty naked into this VERY intimate setting.
I write songs and play music to be understood and heard, not to be the backdrop for a desperate mating call, and this is one of a very few venues in the country where artists like myself have the opportunity to really showcase their songs and music." Ian Moore
