Born David John Gimson, knee deep in fish guts on the Grimsby docks, bendigo began performing his songs in Nottingham 3 or 4 years ago. Blessed not only with a powerful voice that starts out in sandpapery low-range and soars as clear as a bell, he also has a gift for disarming musical honesty and, perhaps most importantly, an ear for a tune.
After a year of playing, and impressing, upon Nottingham’s live circuit, bendigo decided to turn his attentions to the London acoustic scene. There, as his songs and performances have gotten better and better, both his reputation and following have duly swollen.
His debut album “Follow To The End”, released on his own label Vantage Room Records is the culmination of those early years of progress; representing the first tangible fruits of a journey that should prove to be very interesting indeed.
