MySpace a place for friends

I am currently a graduate student at The Ohio State University, studying high energy physics. (I spent too many years at Baylor figuring out my physics career.) Specifically, I am interested in string theory, and I'm not talking about one of the two hundered dumb ass rock bands on MySpace with that moniker. I've always considered myself somewhat of a redneck, and am proud that I can skin a deer while drunk AND tell you why compactification of Heterotic String theory on a six-torus gives N=4 space-time supersymmetry. I'm awesome.

I'm somewhat conservative, and still think that Bush is a better option than Kerry or Gore. Flaming liberals who still think that this war is about oil can discuss this with me. I like to think about international politics when I can, which is not often. Ask me why North Korea will be invaded by China within the next two years, and why I think that the UN is completely useless, and the only reason that we are in Iraq is because it didn't do it's job in the first place.

Currently I am at odds with organized religion in general. I have heard no convincing arguments for why one should devote two hours every Sunday morning to sitting in the Lord's parlor---I hate to think that God is that needy. Please don't evangerape me---I have had quite enough of that at Baylor. I hate people who think that Islam is what's wrong with the world---if you think there haven't been christian terrorists, ask any black person who had a relative hung in a tree and a cross burned in their yard in Alabama in the fifties.

Old friends, new friends, and people who don't hate science. Informed people who like to debate. Uninformed people who hate to be told they're wrong. People who think they have theories which prove Einstein or Quantum Mechanics wrong.

In general, if you are not a dickhead, then I will like you. If you are a dickhead, or have a world-view that is fragile and easily shattered, then go away.
