Benedikt Walter aka Oh Vo from Brotlose Kunst and Engelstaub hits you with maybe the darkest and illest album ever put out by Tontraeger Records. On 25 Tracks and Skits Benedikt Walter tells tales from the darkest side of his soul that are sometimes autobiografic, sometimes fictional, but always paint perfect pictures of pain, loss, death and mystic, while still keeping an amazing poetic quality. forget your average image of a german MC, this record is unique and awe-inspiring. the production, which was mainly handled by Benedikt Walter himself, carries the mood of the lyrics perfectly, being centered around strings and melodic samples. Engelstaub Partner Erich Sess aka BumBum Kunst is featured on 4 tracks, but also former Band Collegues Mamut and Joka pop up on the tracks, as well as Tontraeger Rappers Skero, BauXL and Tibor Foco, but also like-minded Omega Takeshi from Munichs Komaflash 88 is featured on this album. this is heavy listening, but highly addictive, so take care before injecting the disc!

DIE UNSICHTBAREN tell a story about invisibility, fight, pain, mental illness in a fictitious real life versus rap world scenario. mike ladd (ninja tune/K7), queen omega (trinidad/tobago) and mono (linz) add their input to an album like it..s never been heard before in german/austrian hiphop history. dark and doomy beats, german and austrian dialect lyrics and dope cutting that brings rap back to the essence.

a lot of people mourned when BROTLOSE KUNST parted ways in 2002. but after every ending there..s a new beginning, so in the same year OHVO connected with KUNST d.R. and DJ SPINT and they put together ENGELSTAUB. this group follows the tradition of the dark and eerie BK sound but gets lyrically a bit more hardcore, telling stories of pain, drugs and paranoia. their debut CD features mighty 23 tracks (80 minutes of sound) with lots of guests from the TONTRAEGER camp such as fellow BK MC..s Mamut and Joka, Markee from Rückgrat, Bauxl and GC from Die Antwort plus Skero and Flip from Texta. the only bad thing about this album is, that it..s not available on vinyl, but honestly we couldn..t afford to press double vinyl... hiphop is NOT big business in austria. anyway, cop this record and listen to a cinematic soundtrack with lots of mad beats, cuts and lyrics.
