ABOUT BEN EISEN

A midwesterner at heart, Ben Eisen moved to LA in 1999 and has worked with numerous bands in the region. This Wisconsin native first played bass for pop outfit the Mudbunnies, then a Duran Duran tribute band called Planet Earth, as well as an 80's tribute band spin-off called Planet 80's. His adaptability made him a sought-after bassist, and the Who Show, a rock-n-roll tribute to the Who, came calling. During this time he played high-profile shows at the House of Blues (both LA and Anaheim), Hermosa Beach Festival, and the John Entwistle Hollywood tribute show.

In 2001, Ben began playing with Shannon Hurley, a pop-rock singer-songwriter (also co-founder of "Don't Call Us Tori", a female artist showcase in LA). Together they played the grueling coffee house circuit, and by 2006, they were declared one of Rolling Stone Magazine's best bands on MySpace. They are still playing together, and were married in 2007. Ben was also a member of the Minor Canon, a Silverlake indie-rock band that had a month-long residency at the uber-hip club Spaceland. The band's live show was put out on an album by Spaceland and earned them a spot on the grammy ballot. They were also highly championed by LA's biggest independent programming radio station, Indie 103.1. The Minor Canon put out their first album, No Good Deed Goes Unpunished, and are working on their follow-up.

Ben also played with Russian-born songwriter and singer Marina V. In 2008 they opened for Animotion at the historic Warnor's Theater in Fresno as well as LA's home for songwriters, the Hotel Cafe.

In March of 2009 Ben and his wife Shannon made the jump to Nashville, TN. He is currently there getting his feet wet, playing with Shannon at the fabled Bluebird Cafe, playing in 80's cover band Kara & The Hitmen, and writing and recording with another recent California transplant, Mark Cofer.
