Songwriters with a genuine, obvious enthusiasm for their craft can't help but attract an audience. For this simple reason soulful singer/songwriter, Ben Ekstedt, is on his way to earning a multitude of devoted fans. His inspired songwriting and passionate stage presence establish him as a formidable force in the music industry.
Ekstedt has been involved in various projects prior to seeking a solo career. Through the years Ekstedt has had the opportunity to capture the Contemporary Christian Music market by fronting the band Threefold. It was during this venture that Ekstedt had the distinct pleasure of working with Grammy winning producer Mitch Dane (Jars of Clay). With the release of four albums in a three year span Ekstedt and Threefold toured over 30 states in North America.
Growing up in Grand Rapids, Minnesota Ekstedt began singing at the early age of four. Born with a raw talent he developed into a feature soloist for his church and school choirs. While singing appeared to be natural for him, he began to take an interest in playing drums. He got on his first kit at the age of eight and has since transformed into a valued musician in numerous bands not only playing drums but keyboards and guitar as well.
Over the past year Ekstedt has focused his full attention towards a career as a solo artist and has busted his way into the secular market. In a very short span Ekstedt has begun to perform shows in various Seattle venues including the prestigious Triple Door Theater and Benaroya Hall. Within recent months Ekstedt has gained interests from Independent labels, established songwriters, and producers. This attention has lead him into the studio to work on his solo self entitled debut set for release in the Spring of 2010. With an undeniable gift and support from an established music community Ben Ekstedt is sure to exceed all expectations as one of the best up and coming artists in the music industry.
