I've been influenced by so many artists and music genres over the years. In each song you’ll discover different influences: The Beach Boys to The Smiths in one, Beck to Sonic Youth in the next.
Ben Griffith is an exciting and talented singer/songwriter living and writing in Brighton. In 2007/2008 Ben launched Cakewalk Records to release his creations and was sponsored by Ford through BrandAmp (Universal), releasing his first EP. The EP “Tea and Sympathy” was incredibly well received and Ben has toured throughout the UK since 2008. “Beat of My Heart “ was rated industry “Record of The Day”. Over the following 12 months Ben has gathered together his own band “The Hooks” to complete his live sound and he has recorded his debut album “the ups and the downs” with renowned Brighton producer Tim Bidwell(Kate Walsh, Peggy Sue and the pirates, Gloria Cycles). The album is set to be released this September.
“Ben Griffith and The Hooks” have worked hard to become an excellent live act. Last summer they pleased crowds at “Secret garden party”, “Halesworth gig in the park”, and “Out of the ordinary festival” and this year so far at Brighton’s “Great Escape” and "Brighton fringe festival". Rough trade amongst others think Ben and his Band are definitely one to watch.....so shouldn't you?
