The Pogues, Shane MacGowan, The Dubliners, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Tossers, AC/DC, Foo Fighters, QOTSA, Old School Rock n Roll, and damn near anything else you can think of.
Ben Hagood has been involved in music in one way or another for almost twenty years. He first began performing in rock cover bands just out of high school in 1991. Soon after, he moved on to a touring rock act called Civil Disorder, which intermittently toured the south central part of the country for 3 years in the late 90's. He then stepped away from music for a year or two, after which time he opened a music venue called Timebomb Cafe, where independent and punk acts were booked regularly. During this time, he also formed a 3-piece pop-punk band called Jerk Alert, which was a great success locally in the Northeast Texas area.
Having performed with such acts as Brave Combo, Bowling For Soup, Fastball, Toys That Kill, and many more, Ben came to Irish music in a very roundabout way. His involvement in punk led him to bands like the Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, and The Pogues. He just couldn't get enough, working backwards through the Pantheon of traditional Irish greats, from contemporaries like The Tossers to old-school masters The Dubliners. Relatively new to the Lafayette area, Ben has fast become a presence on the local music scene through his work with Blue Ribbon All Stars, numerous solo performances, and as frontman for Ulterior Motive, one of the highest energy bands in the area. Ben also fronts The Enders, Lafayette's own Hardcore/post-punk 3 piece... keep an eye out for them...
