Benita Charles is a singer/songwriter/producer who resides in Harlem, NY. She's appeared at various clubs in the New York tri-state area including Kavehaz, Kenny's Castaways, Downtime, Club Speed, Alphabet Lounge, Upstairs at Rose's Turn, Nell's and the Beacon Theater. In addition to performing in a wide variety of projects in the entertainment industry, Benita has created her own productions: a one-women show called, "Moments In Love," in Greenwich Village, New York; and cabaret shows: "The Benita Charles Show," The Benita Charles Variety Show (The Gift) and Benita Charles & Friends: In Remembrance of Sept 11. at the Triad Theater on the upper west side which has grown into an annual event for September Concert. Her debut CD, Moments In Love Volume 1 is now available on CD Baby and iTunes.

Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
