I love jazz. I also love silence! I find music everywhere and in everything and most of the time I am whistling or singing an ugly song! I love to sing out of key! (Only at home :)) Blues, jazz, lite rock, and hymns; these are my FAVORITES!

In 2004, Benita Washington released HOLD ON to rave reviews. In it’s first week out HOLD ON hit multiple slots on Billboard including: 6 Top Gospel Albums, 16 Top Mainstream Christian Albums, 27 Top Current Contemporary Christian Chart and 30 Top 50 Albums Chart. HOLD ON would go on to chart again several different times over the next year and the lead single “Thank You” reached number three on the gospel radio charts and remained there three consecutive weeks. In 2005, HOLD ON garnered a Soul Train Lady of Soul nomination for BEST GOSPEL ALBUM alongside industry greats Dorothy Norwood, LaShun Pace, and Kierra “KiKi” Sheard. Standing on the promise of Proverbs 18:16, Benita has indeed had the opportunity of working with the industry’s finest. HOLD ON afforded her the privilege to work with industry veteran Super Producer and Grammy Award Winner Asaph “Alex” Ward, producers Roger Ryan and Fred Vaughn, veteran song writer V. Michael McKay, Bishop Paul S. Morton and many others. Benita also has toured the US extensively with Gospel legend CeCe Winans, opening on the second leg of the critically acclaimed Throne Room Tour in early 2005. Not only a solo artist, Washington has played a supporting role on several projects including the 2005 release for the group Anointed and the 2005 RIAA Certified Gold release Piece of my Passion from Prophetess Juanita Bynum. Prophetess Bynum gave Benita her national TBN television debut May 2005 on the Mother’s Day Praise the Lord Special currently airing in syndication. Many have written Benita Washington Ministries expressing how the power of God touched them through her ministry that night.
