About me:
I like writing. I write a lot - short stories mainly. I'm not sure what that says about me. Probably that I've got way too much time on my hands. My fiction's been published (or is forthcoming) in magazines such as The Willesden Herald Short Stories 3 anthology, First Edition, Hoi Polloi, The Momaya Annual Review 2008, The London Magazine, Dream Catcher, Transmission, Volume Magazine, Skive, Swill Magazine, Escape Velocity, Cause & Effect, and Espresso Fiction. I hate anything that stops me from writing. Writer's block, for instance. Sometimes I can't write for weeks on end. That's why I'm doing this right now instead of working on a story. If you've got a cure please, please send it my way.
Who I'd like to meet:
Writers, editors, publishers, readers, anyone creative...

Hi there!
My debut novel, The Cuckoo Parchment and the Dyke, has just launched. If you get a chance I'd be grateful if you'd go to my profile to find out more. The story's about Dada, art and artists, and the attempt to instigate revolution by means of art.
Thanks and take care,
Michael

Chicks Dig Scars - Chapter One

Chicks dig scars, everyone knows that, right? Meet Severence DeSnappio, a man who creates ‘fake’ injuries for desperate clients. He’ll get you a stab wound, shot gun blast, snowboarding injury - but a bite from a great white shark?

S
et in Miami, Chicks Dig scars is a lyrical, Lynchian mix of dream logic and hard boiled detection.

So do you find you get blocked on a specific piece or on writing altogether? If it's the former, maybe working on something else for a few days could help.

So what ultimately overcomes it for you? I know I get jammed when I have reservations about what I've written so far. Then I get the feeling that continuing would be building on a shaky foundation. I have to find the root of my uneasiness and deal with it.

Hey hey, thanks for looking me up. I too suffer from writer's block on occasion, sometimes for hours at a time. Short-term, I find rewriting other people's stories works. I'm yet to find a long-term solution, but I'm working on it...
