Interests

  • General

Film. Theater. Playing the piano. Watching all the extra features on a DVD, even of a bad movie. Collecting film soundtracks and passion play memorabilia. Staying up too late. Ignoring my phone when it rings. Txt Msgs. Getting frustrated with people who abbreviate Text Messages. PBnJ24/7...
  • Music

John Williams, James Horner, David Arnold, Robert Rodriguez, Norah Jones, Dana Glover, Gershwin, Charmichal, Porter. Classical music. Probably nothing you'll like.

  • Television

Very little, if at all when it's actually broadcast'd. But on DVD I enjoy watching whole runs of shows in huge marathons. Shows such as: Arrested Development 30 Rock The Office And that's about it as far as scripted shows. Everything else is on Discovery, History, or a variation of those channels.
  • Books

My Search For B. Traven, The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt, Any of the original Nero Wolfe Mysteries by Rex Stout, C.S. Lewis, Frank Peretti, Chuck Swindoll's book on Esther. Most of the Bible (not sure about those lesser prophets yet - j/k). David Sedaris. Calvin & Hobbes is like a prophetic biography for me...
  • Heroes

People who face their fears. People who stand strong in the face of difficult decisions and have the courage to take them head on. I am learning to be my own hero, and doing well at it I find! No one is perfect, only incredibly compatable with other imperfect people. Realize that when you put God first, you don't have to be perfect!..

About me:

..
Hi. I'm Benjamin Wilbanks I have worked in all areas of production. As an actor I can be seen in Leap of Faith, Boy’s Don’t Cry, Walker, Texas Ranger and the CBS Movie Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack. My most prolific period was with the outdoor musical production, The Promise, in which I performed on stage over 830 times. This production took me across the United States, to Russia and South Korea. In 2004 I ended my tenure with The Promise with the title of Production & Operations Manager for the original Glen Rose stage.

In early 2005 I wrote, directed and edited the documentary film project A Journey To Iraq, which took me to the middle east for a first hand look on the lives of Christians and changes in their lives since the removal of Saddam Hussein.

I have also worked in television on numerous shows for FOX, CBS, ESPN, PAX, Discover and TLC channels. Other films I have worked on are Bloodlines, Bit Parts and Young Producers, and the made for TV films Still Holding On for CBS and A House Divided for ABC.

The above information was so clinical, so technical, so professional. I thought I'd write one more paragraph about me, from me, by me that should feel like I'm sitting right across from you. In fact, why aren't we sitting right across from each other? I'd much rather have this talk face to face.

Ok, then. Two paragraphs. I enjoy meeting people who are doing things. Going places. I love watching people when they don't know it. I really enjoy watching children learn things for the first time! I find little things fascinating, like the sound of words, and the feeling of cool air against my skin after a long hot shower. I insist that the people around me are steeped in intellectual sincerity - if you're not, you'd better learn to be QUICK. If you find that I don't like you, it's probably because I have little tolorance for blather and jabberwokky. Not that I don't mind some frovility, but really...Why live your life as a dullard?

It's important to me to know that you seek adventure, and not just for adventure's sake. No. Doing that is like hitting yourself in the head with a frying pan because you like the feeling. It's like taking drugs, or getting drunk - two things I do NOT to, and will not tolorate in my life, or around me. To be my friend you had better be real about what you want, why you want it, and have a plan on how to get it. Otherwise, I'll challenge your thinking, and if you resist....then you will have lost an awesome friend. Who, you ask? ME!

Finally, the last paragraph: Challenge my thinking. Be an intellectual - not a psuedo-intellectual (aka: emotionally based), and be able to critically analyze a situation, take critism, give advice, and continue to grow. Basically, be the way God MEANT for you to be, and not the way you think the world, or anyone else WANTS you to be, and we'll be fine. And now the paragraphs end.

Who I'd like to meet:

In no particular order...
Saddam Hussain (not kidding) - whoops...too late.
Philo Farnsworth,
A. Thomas Edison,
Benjamin Franklin,
Theodore Roosevelt,
Actually it's been too late to meet any of these people so far. So here's one that's still alive:
Otto Huber,
Aren't you glad you asked?
Of course I'd also like to meet...
YOU!

i like it, but I still think that glove sound is cheesy and sounds kinda like a fart, so it takes away the intensity of the moment. but over all it looks good. a suggestion, possibly a clip of me in the trailer?? but take out the farting glove or tone it down.

I think your b-day gift is arriving - Fed Ex this pm. Can't wait. When I sent it back to be re-framed, fed ex dropped it and broke the frame. You will really like the new frame. Happy Birthday. Go to John August Swanson and guess which picture is coming.
