During the day I work for an internationally distributed fashion and style magazine.. but once I get home an amazing transformation occurs.
OK, so perhaps there is no real transformation.
I've been playing about with sound for as long as I can remember, even if I was only banging things and creaking doors as a kid. I'll admit it, I'm addicted! Pretty much if it makes a noise, I want one.
Being the hopeless left hander I am I don't actually play any instruments that well, so I rely on technology and its evil twisted ways to achieve the results I want... Who said you need a REAL instrument to make music anyway? I'll be using a barcode scanner instead please..
Technology is your friend, if it connects to a computer I'll try to find a way to intercept what it's doing and get it to control something it shouldn't.. by doing this I've had more fun that you can imagine. Want to know what beans on toast sounds like? Well that is the kind of stuff I do for kicks and giggles..
Ingredients:
1 tin of beans
1 loaf of bread
1 tub of margarine
1 clever bit of programming
1 barcode scanner
As for style!?! Well, if I like it I'll make it.. Sometimes it'll be musical, sometimes it'll be closer to a textural soundscape. Basically sound is a great therapeutic force and I use it to exorcise my inner workings.
