"Close your eyes, cast your mind back 40 years, that's Ralph McTell on stage" - Mike Harding at BBC Young Folk Award 2009
"He has a talent; a gift. Use it, and enjoy it!" - Harvey Andrews
Ben is fifteen and has been playing guitar for two and a half years.
He is influenced by artists ranging from Chris Wood to Lightnin’ Hopkins,
and plays a good mixture of folk, blues and acoustic music. He has a strong
voice for a fifteen year old, his guitar playing is way ahead of his years
and he is also studying music at school. He finalised in the New Roots
competition aged 14 and was a semi-finalist in the Young Folk Award
2009. Ben is a regular performer in and around Kent, where he lives,
including having supported Jackie Oates and Ron Trueman-Border, and, like him, has a residency at Orpington Friday Folk. He can also be found
playing at Dartford Folk Club. Ben believes the blues is due for a renaissance and hopes to be instrumental in achieving this.

Thanks for the request. Great sound, love the blues guitar and lovely mature voice! I see you are a fan or Richard Thompson.... I have just discovered him myself! You heard Rory Gallagher? Another fine guitarist! Becks x
