Ben Nelson is a 23 year old Worship Leader and Student Minister based out of Birmingham, AL. Ben is blessed to have a Beautiful and supporting wife (Cassidy Harrison) who spurs him on daily in his walk. Ben has a passion for Christ and a desire to share Him through worship, outreach and love.
WORSHIP...
Ben has been leading worship around the southeast for 6 years now. He traveled with the Ben Nelson band from Fall of 2004 until Jan. 25, 2008 and currently is the Modern Worship Leader of 718 at Helena UMC. Ben is the worship leader for Club 139, a Monthly state wide worship gathering and TV show and is also Co-Chair of Worship music on the North Alabama Chrysalis Board. He stopped leading worship on the road because he felt a need to grow week after week with a community through worship.
OUTREACH...
Ben has an unbelievable passion for meeting people as they are and sharing the story of our true and living God. He is about relationships, building them and showing, by example, God's unfailing love. Ben has started and engages in many out reach opportunities. He started Driven Outreach ministries in the spring of 2008. This is a ministry that takes some of his favorite outdoor past times and builds a ministry around them. This includes: Skateboarding, bouldering (rock climbing), Backpacking, canoeing, and more. Ben is also the worship leader for an inner city out reach ministry called Club 139. This ministry goes to the surrounding areas and throws a block party style worship service right in the street. It is also filmed and aired all across the southeast. Aside from all of these great things, Ben just tries to live each day reaching out to all he comes in contact with, he has never meet a stranger and makes new friends daily. Ben Strives to live a life that is constantly seeking the lost and showing them God's grace and love.
LOVE...
God is love! Ben hopes to share that unfailing love in all he does. He longs to love people, not because he is nice or sweet, but because God showed him an undeserved love. In a world that in unsteady and constantly failing Ben longs to show people a steady constant God. What better way than to love them with God's unfailing and constant love?
When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit... By all means pray, and don't you quit. Success is failure turned inside out, God's hidden gift in the clouds of doubt.
You never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar. So trust in the Lord when you're hardest hit... It's when things go wrong that you must not quit!
