I've produced video and film, long and short formats, since 1993. Currently, I'm focusing more on documentaries, but I am looking to jump back in narratives in the next couple years. You can see trailers for my works at www.dockratent.com.
Over the past two years, I've been writing and producing music for a variety of projects. You can hear some of my tunes at www.garageband.com/artist/bennfarrell. I'm also a guitarist and bassist for Nubia2 in Denver.
Since May 2005, my co-producer and I have produced Brian and Benn's MP3 Movie Talk Show. Hear the show at www.bbmcreviews.com. Listen to past shows in our archives.

About me:
I'm originally from Providence and Foster, RI, and ended up in Colorado Springs in 1991. In college, I studied film, theatre and television and nearly all formats of writing.
As a hobby, I write and record tunes and post them at www.garageband.com/artist/bennfarrell. Presently, I also play lead guitar and bass in Denver's latin funk/pop rock band Nubia2.
I've appeared in several stage productions including The Day They Shot John Lennon and Jeffrey with the Upstart Performing Ensemble, Da and All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, with the Masquers @ PPCC and Inherit the Wind with the Star Bar Players.
I have written and produced--sometimes directed, sometimes appeared in--several video motion picture projects under the name DockRat Entertainment/Comatose Picturez including In the Darkness, with co-writer Scott Bechberger, Between Friends and Wonderbred, which was released to video in 2003. In 1999, I teamed up with regional stand-up comic Napoleon Hudson to create the Rocky Mountain based sketch comedy television show Loosen Up, which aired on cable TV in Colorado Springs and Denver for two seasons.
My first feature length stageplay saw its world premier in 2000, produced by the Masquers @ PPCC, in Colorado Springs, titled 24 Hours and Something Original. The production had a successful run and was welcomed with great to mediocre reviews from local newspapers. Since then, I've written several other stageplays including The War Over Tigger, Losing Rebecca, Slow Kidz at Play, The Twilight of Nantucket, This Girl from Providence, and Mourning News and Fat Farm, both of which I wrote during a six month stay near Geneve, Switzerland. My plays are self published .., so if you want to check out more about them, go to www.bennscripts.dockratent.com.
When I returned stateside, I re-teamed with stage and screen cohort Brian G. Felts (Da, Between Friends) to create a weekly MP3 movie talk show for our movie reviews website, Brian and Benn’s Movie Corner at www.bbmcreviews.com. The show, Brian and Benn’s MP3 Movie Talk Show, has run every week since May 2005 and continues to grow in popularity.
2006, I released my first feature-length documentary with co-producer Tony Hughes, titled Two Guyz: Who Shouldn’t Have Close Ups. You can see the trailers for most of my movies in my 'videos' section or by visiting www.dockratent.com.
I also work as the senior sports writer for Colorado Community Newspapers in the Denver area and continue to produce entertainment for the Internet. I also work with the Go Go Gore Girls in Colorado Springs as a publicist.
Presently, I'm writing a new stageplay set in a tattoo shop titled Inked. Scenes will be available soon for opinions, comments and questions.
Who I'd like to meet: I'm hoping to meet other low-budget moviemakers and musicians, people who love to laugh, love music and flicks, find some people I've lost touch with and tell everyone about my weekly MP3 movie talk show at www.bbmcreviews.com.

It has to be the Mercury Retrograde, which ended yesterday; but today we have the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse along with a bunch of planets lining up freaky. The apocolypse would be preferable to all this "other" bullshit that seems to be occurring!
I got a virus and you were the first person I thought of. I may heal sick humans but I haven't figured out how to hang IV antibiotics on my hard drive.
My ipod flipped on Don Henley for that last one :)
Anyway...
For those who won't speak up for themselves How many lives would we saved, changed, rearrange It's our time to make a shine So don't keep walking by cause you don't want to intervene.
well, i would have traded the hour doing the show for one of the many i spent losing flies to snags, losing flies to salmon (and losing the damn salmon) and getting flies out of willow bushes. and and hour less of rain.
