Ben Pelchat (born April 26, 1982) is a Canadian music producer, solo artist, and former lead singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter of rock bands Slow Motion eXplosion (SMX) and The Other Children. He is a committed vegan and environmentalist. Over his decade-plus career, he has become an active member of the Canadian music industry, working as a songwriter, producer, and go-to person for many artists and performers across Canada and the United States, and working closely with organizations such as Canadian Music Week (CMW). He is the co-founder of treadFIRE Music, and operates out of Kensington Sound, Toronto’s oldest continuously-operational recording studio, in the heart of downtown Toronto’s vibrant Kensington Market. ..
