(D)(B)(H) - "not all girls just wanna have fun" c40 TAPE "skirting the line between commune-psych excess(es - i’m implicitly
reminded of the swedish early 70s wave - international harvester, et.al
- but also contemporary hydra-headed beasts like sapat) & a kind of
desultory group-mind version of the freewheeling fire music, this music
takes in a lot of disparate influences yet stays on target
throughout... this tape features a bunch of shorter tracks; each living
it’s own fidelity/soundworld, each edited to provide the “meat” of each
given session / lineup without too much in the way of “filler”;
something a rarity in these days of endless “fill the void”

"DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell." Bill Margold, Cinema Seen, L.A. X..Press
Hey,
Are you looking for some FRESH new music?
I'm doing this all by hand and I think it would be amazing of you if you checked out
my band,Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
we are being featured and you can hear our ENTIRE album @
funny thing, I met a guy this week in merriville/hobart area that knows/is friends with you (i think). It was a lawyer dinner thing and usually they are somewhat boring if you're not a lawyer. But Rodney (a 2nd year law student) and I had a good time talking about metal and classical music. And that's how you got brought up. Small world, huh?
It's been awhile since we talked last and I'm not sure if you still live in Bloomington but.... If you do and are free tomorrow I will be performing at the Bluebird. You should come hang and catch up.
