Chesley and Luke met in the Spring of 2008, and began piecing together a group from Luke's schoolmates, Ryan and Alex, at the Schulich School in Montreal.

The lineup gelled in the spring of 2009 with the addition of bass (Paul Van Dyk), violin (Rafael Wolman, Key Of K) and a new drummer (Charlotte Cornfield).
