"Raffaele a.k.a Dj Bentley is 30 years old, was born on June 1978 in a town in the south of Italy on the Puglia region. He plays psychedelic trance, progressive trance and even chill-out music. In 1997 he moved to Milan to attend a University of Economics. It was there that he got to know about the world of electronic music and dropped into the underground music scene. In 2001 he started showing up as a psy-trance Dj on north and center Italy parties. So far he has played in more than 200 parties and festivals, not only in Italy between Milan and Rome but also abroad, around Europe. He is a member of the “SoundSplatters project” (www.soundsplatters.net) and “ChaoticWaves" (www.myspace.com/chaoticwaves); that are well-known crews from Milan, which organizes electronic parties and festivals that gathers thousands of people all around Italy. Each Friday, together with dj Phobos and with dj Face, he broadcasts on Radio Onda d’Urto “Brain Splatters”, a radio program dedicated to psy-trance music and underground electronic culture (www.radiondadurto.org). Dj Bentley enjoys mixing smoothly with care, usually prefers to match the music selection to the dance floor mood and avoid pre-established unchangeable sets. His musical preferences are very particular and the style could change depending on time, events and situation. On open-air stages or indoor clubs, from 135 bpm fat deeper sounds and bouncy groves to 145 bpm faster and acid pumping sounds characterized by powerful neo-full on bass lines or progressive frequencies, Bentley is able to perform different dj-set styles according to the kind of event and performance requested.
The music is not his unique passion: he is also interested in history and is moreover a specialist in economic fields. In 2002 he got a bachelor degree in Economics, in 2003 a Master in International Economics and Finance and in 2008 a Phd in Public Economics.
