saturday 4th july sees us bring legendary birmingham band the nightingales to the vic inn...
this is only one of three uk dates they are playing on this tour so its a rare chance to see one of john peels favourite bands live...
it has taken us the best part of two years to get them to play here - thus we are asking that if we've ever put your band on or turned up to your gigs that you if at all possible try to come along not only because it would make us smile but because you'll get to see an incredible gig...
links to all the acts are at the top of our top friends page...

HA HA! I AM IN YOUR INTERNETS! I'm applying for jobs all over the place, so I hope I can return to Derby, otherwise it's Scunny for me for the next few months. I tell you, I'm already going mental. I got told off for not hanging my towel on my radiator properly. Bloody parents.
..the one I like is up! hooray!! the distinct increase in how many plays it has will be a result of me discovering it. Hope you're well, I'm at uni in Norwich now- there's a lot of poetry and spoken word sort of stuff mixed in with acoustic music going on here and I think you'd go down really well, so if you ever want a gig here, let me know! xxx
hi ben sorry i couldn't make it to the jeffery lewis show, i heard it went well so congrats on that :) hope you're doing fine. i'll see you at a big jam some time. xxx
not our gig but highly recommended not only for the top bands but because the active entertainment unit of the nappy rash collective god has tits are playing {our first gig in six months and probably our only gig of this year}... check out www. myspace. com/godhastits for our older stuff / this performance is projected to be avant christian doom metal with a side order of seventies czech prog underground and a sprinkling of psychotical psyschedelic improv...
Just dropping by to let you know we have 5 brand new tracks on our music player from our free 7-track 'Denied our rights' ep.
If you'd like a copy you can grab one at a gig or from one of us personally. They'll soon be knocking around in selected shops around the midlands too...we'll list those places on our page once everything is confirmed for future reference. Otherwise we'll soon be setting up a page to download it from for just £1.
Please have a listen to the tracks on our page and let us know what you think, good or bad.
don't forget it's bishop blaise open mic tomorrow, as every thursday no pre-booking nonsense just turn up and play tell a friend, bring an army, support the derby music scene hope to see you down ed xx
