Hip Hop, Metal, Rock, Emo, Indy, Electronic, most anything.
Bloc Party, actually listen to the words, amazing stuff.
Best of the Beast hands down is my favorite metal CD. Iron Maiden is and will always be the best Metal Band of all time.
NaS, Hip-Hop IS Dead.
Tribe Called Quest, Black Sheep, Wu-36 Chambers, Grave Diggaz, J5, Kanye, NaS, Jigga, Paul Wall, Swisha House, Fugees, Postal Service, The Sea and Cake, DBC, FSF, Radiohead, Dntel, Notwist....too much music to list.
Nirvana is always great.
If you know me ask to see my Ipod, you could have seen it, but I broke it and lost 40 gigs of music. Oh well.
Movies
The information below is quite old now, I am not really sure anymore what my favorite movie is, but what is written is still correct. Yeah, not sure what my Number 1 is. Documentaries on the almost forgotten past have really inspired me lately. Music, History, People, the subject matter does not matter to me. There is no such thing as too much knowledge.
I have seen a lot of them. They are a part of my everyday. I watch them, study them, and find ways to use them in my art (not so much art anymore, my everyday life for sure), if they inspire me.
Garden State, that movie is amazing on so many levels.
Television
Watch It.
Books
I haven't read any "books" per sea, but I have read so much on so many subjects lately. I spent half a day learning everything there was to know about the greatest city on the west coast, Portland. There is so much about the city people do not now about, and it seems a lot of parts of its history those in charge might not want you knowing about. The best part is, it is right there at your fingertips, you just have to want to find it.
What I wrote about the book below is still adequate. Unfortunately I have done nothing to make a change for “our fellow human beings” or myself At least from that stand point.
I just finished Fast Food Nation. Wow the stuff that people do not know about. I always here people complaining about Animal Rights, what about the rights of our fellow human beings. We need to make a change.
"You're like a microwave of fury."-Thiselectricsex about me.
Homies.
This is what's up right here. Greyboy. Learn it. Know it. Live it.
Spent 4 years in Southern California working my Dream job and not really feeling the vibe of the area. I moved in to Long Beach my last year and that place really was my kind of area. Great people, slower paced and amazing neighborhoods. I lived there for the community of the place not to ride, so I didn't get mixed up with the BMX scene at all. No real regrets there other than I missed out on spending time on my bike with some great friends.
Around may we had a meeting about uprooting our product design area and moving it to a better more bicycle friendly area and Austin was the place, I was immediately on board and here I am today a Texan once again. It was exactly 21 years to the day I was taken away from Texas kicking and screaming and now I'm back. Looking back I would not have traded my time in the Northwest for anything. That place is and will always be my home for the same reasons I liked Long Beach so much, great people, slower pace, amazing neighborhoods but more importantly that is where my family and closest friends are.
I am fresh into this new experiment in Texas and so far I know we have made the right decision. I am really happy to be back in Texas.
