Be Quiet. Shout Loud! played their first gig on March 29th 2008 and began life as a 5 piece and soon expanded to a 6 piece, gaining an extra drummer in the process. In their fledgling months they have supported acts such as Iglu & Hartly, One Night Only, Team Waterpolo, and The Chapman Family.
During this time they have played live sessions for local BBC Radio and appeared at several summer festivals including Middlesbrough Music Live, Scarborough Beached and The Olga's Rock Festival in Oberhausen, Germany which was followed by a homecoming show where they headlined Middlesbrough Empire in September.
Inspired by 80's new-romantic synth pop, 90's baggy brit-pop and a shit load of disco, they are as much about, thumping, bass driven, body moving beats as they are about writing stupidly catchy pop songs.
More often than not there will be a straggler aimlessly wandering around stage causing as much, if not more mayhem than feather boa clad, megaphone wielding front man Jake Radio to add to what they call "organised chaos"...
OTHER PEOPLE'S WORDS.
Middlesbrough’s answer to The Rapture, The Music or The Infadels will take you by the scruff of your neck and shake you around like ragdolls. A musical cacophony of double drumming, slick funking, cowbell twatting rock and roll. tenfeettall.co.uk
Here’s a Middlesbrough six-piece who certainly know how to rattle the
requisite cages. This is a well zippy chunk of off-kilter pop which gradually builds into a sky scraping, indie-disco floor-filling sonic blast of yee-ha!

Truly brilliant, creative and expressively 80’s animated it was pleasing to witness a mastery of sheer expressionism and individualism. Jason Warne - scoobysnaps.co.uk
For a different kind of beat, how about Disco Beat by 'Be Quiet. Shout
Loud!'? Their claim that "this disco beat can save the world" is simply
not true (a beat can never match the power of the UN), but there's something
about the epic KOL-esque chorus and general enthusiasm on display that
can just about overcome such an erroneous belief. NARC
If ever a man and band were made for the stage it is BQSL. A band, creating a riot of surreal, ‘disco rock’ with keyboards and guitars, joined by a mighty bit of bass, and two drummers. Newcastle Evening Chronicle

Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.
International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.
Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.
