"Berlin Blonde, the once brainchild of Dutchman ERNST GONLAG (born 1969) and Frenchman XAVIER SIRCHIS (born in Paris, 1972), started out in 1999 and lasted untill 5 years later. When meeting in the summer of 1999 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, they were both electronic musicians working the local scene (Gonlag creating minimal midi music with the project called RADISH).
After finding out that they shared the same musical interest they teamed up and created their first tracks by (e-)mail: a first glance of a song was sent in Cubase files by one to the other, re-arranged and re-send by the other to the first, and so on and so on...
Their music is hard to pin down in any electronic category, but it's obviously that they got their influence from the eighties and early IDM.
Although a hobby project, with no intention of getting a record label deal (ignoring some offers from minor labels), their songs grabbed the attention of several music internet-sites.
They decided to end the Berlin Blonde project in 2004 when their daily jobs ( both in mass media) took too much time and attention. They still make music, seperately, but no future releases were anounced lately (early 2007).
To let everybody have a taste of 5 year companionship in electronic music they have decided to open up the Berlin Blonde backcatalogue on Last FM (since 2007) and MySpace (since 2006, with over 35.000 plays in less than a year)."
