Berserker was formed in 1989 by Alessandro Alioto, who in that year recorded the first demo tape "Berserker", playing all instruments himself. In 1990 three members were added and 1991 saw the release of a rehearsal tape called "1991". The following year they recorded "The Drakkarsaga", followed by 1993's "Emperor of Destruction" demo. In 1994 Armando Alioto, Alessandro's brother, signed on as drummer, at which time they released the rehearsal tape "Live", recorded at their gigs. In 1995 yet another demo was recorded, titled "Skaeggox", followed by "Death in Your Eyes" in 1996. In July of 1997 Berserker recorded two more demo tapes "Fighting the Fear" and "Fight or Die!". In 1999 Alessandro and Armando recorded the first Berserker demo CD called "Masters of Steel", on which Alessandro performed all guitars, bass, and vocals. In 2003 the Alioto brothers recorded their first debut album “Blood of the Warriors”, but they'll must wait till 2006 when the well-known Italian label “My Graveyard productions” to sign them and in November of 2007 their album come out. Berserker's sound is inspired by Traditional Power and Epic Metal from the mid 1980's. All music and lyrics are written by Alessandro and are based on his own poetic epic saga "Defenders in Odin's Name".
