Berserk comienza en enero de 2008 cuando un grupo de amigos, amantes de el Thrash Metal, decide que la escena salvadoreña esta sedienta de velocidad y ritmos mas energeticos que los que la han estado dominando por muchos años.
Formada por Manuel "Meme" Paredes (Voz, Guitarra Ritmica), Edson "El Gato" Alvarado (Guitarra Lider, Coros), Marvin Paredes (Bajo, Coros) y Jorge "El Mero Mango" Gomez (Bateria), se proyecta desde un principio como una banda enfocada por completo a producir material original. A pesar de la poca experiencia y la corta edad de sus integrantes (Entre 16 y 22 años), la banda se propone darse a conocer a nivel nacional e internacional.
Comenzando desde cero, dan rienda suelta a su creatividad, componiendo canciones en la linea del Thrash Tradicional de los años 80, de la mano con el creciente resurgimiento del Thrash a nivel mundial. Con liricas muy versatiles, que van desde temas personales, pasando por criticas hacia los problemas sociales del pais y del mundo, llegando hasta entornos surreales y fantasticos, con un enfoque muy urbano e irreverente.
