bert peppercorn is the electro pop-project of the german artist, composer and keyboarder bert pfefferkorn... .. he grew up in chemnitz, saxonia/east germany... since the age of 7 he started to write his own music... after finishing the high scool he studied composition and piano at the conservatoire "felix mendelssohn bartholdy" in leipzig/germany and changed later to the conservatoire "hanns eisler" in berlin/germany... he finished this education among others as a "diplom-komponist"... since 1990 he lives in berlin... .. his career started only with classical music... but now rock, pop and techno music is more important to him... .. as well as being active under the name bert peppercorn he also has made music together with other artists like hardy hard, dub taylor, kook feat. roxxy bione or jeanette biedermann... in 2003 he was responsible for the musical arrangement and live performance of the electro pop-mini musical "hotline to heaven" written by the british author and actress barbara spitz... .. from 2005 to 2008 he was the live keyboarder for the jamaican reggae and dancehall queen ann shakes... .. in 2009 he wrote the book "mau mau" about a german punkband in the former gdr..... since 2011 this book is avaiable at xinxii.com... .. Unter diesem Namen veröffentlicht er einerseits selbstkomponierte und produzierte CD`s. Andererseits tritt er unter diesem Namen live auf. Bert Pfefferkorn spielt dabei Keyboards, singt und bedient Elektronik. Oft sind zusätzlich Schauspieler, andere Musiker und live auch Tänzer eingebunden.
Stillistisch erinnert die Musik an Acts wie „Depeche Mode“ oder „Deichkind“. Allerdings ist seit 2010 der Sound rockiger durch die feste Hinzunahme des Gitarristen Albrecht Schumann und ähnelt mehr noch einer Band wie „Northern Lite“.
Die originellen, teils deutschen oder englischen Texte sind meist augenzwinkernd verfasst. Sie behandeln z. Bsp. so skurrile Themen wie: Staus zur Reisezeit, Tofuwürste oder gar Gerichtsakten von Dobermann-Hunden.
Auftritte erfolgten bisher vorallem in vielen Berliner Musikclubs wie „Zosch“, „Acud“ oder „Oxymoron“, aber auch bei Open-Air-Festivals oder sogar in der Arena Berlin.
