My life revolves mainly around- My work as an art collector and historian:
researching about unknown pop artists of the 60's and 70's.
The rest of my days are spent catching up on
the paintings that I've promised,
and trying to finish my book.
<3 spontaneous dance parties.
<3 playing pinball in airports.
<3 getting random tattoos.
<3 my four chihuahuas
The perfect day: an endless iced mint tea, rosebowl flea market followed by a couple thrift stores, eating mexican food at the beach, super dark lounge, many mai tais, and a bit of painting. Rinse and Repeat.
Also enjoy meeting other artists and assembling art shows and events.
Two of my projects have included THE TRUTH SHOW
and GO-GO ART SHOW. Always looking for other artists and venues to work with!
Music
I'm not a music snob.
I love listening to AM oldies radio early in the morning.
Going to shows has always been one of my favorite things
in the world. Jumping around and spilling
drinks on myself is pure awesomeness.
Movies
Zombies, Vampires, Possessed Kids and/or Haunted Houses are my favorite! I'm excited about all the new 3-D movies coming out!!! Movies with cute talking animals...the world needs Babe III. Anything with Steve Buscemi "Bad girl" film noir.
And of course I can never turn off a John Hughes movie when it's on TV. Who doesn't love Breakfast Club? The standards: John Waters, David Lynch, Amy Heckerling, Allison Anders, Tim Burton. .... oh and a good old fashioned mobster movie even if I've seen it 50 times already.
Television
..
Yes, it rots yer brain. Blah Blah Blah. Love love love the show Ace of Cakes. Price is Right. My absolute fave: Pushing Daisies (canceled just like they did to twin peaks). The Mighty B! is the best animated show EVER.
Several more that I won't admit to.
Okay one.
The Hills
Don't judge me :)
Books
Movie Star Biographies or anything about Hollywood's "glamorous" Golden era. It's impossible to get too much of Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Greta Garbo right?
Lots of Vintage Modern Mags, and Tattoo Magazines
Books are too much of a commitment for me right now, but I miss them.
Heroes
F.P.P.F.
That's an easy one! I am extremely fortunate to have so many people in my life who do what they love and lead charmed lives. Their friendships have made my life pretty dang amazing. I feel totally LUCKY to know my heroes!!!

besmirched.com chronicles some of my projects. Let's see, I was/am a publisher of an arty sort of zine (the paper kind kids!) that I started in 94 called "Besmirched", hope to get another issue out eventually. Um...Painted for group shows in L.A./N.Y./S.F. etc.. Shown stuff at Laguna Beach Art Museum. That was exciting to have a painting along side Margaret Keane, Maio, Igor, Eden-who are my major influences. Written articles for lots of indie collectors magazines and for glossy art mags like Juxtapoz and Hi Fructose. My collection of 60's sad eyed kids and animals has been seen on tv, mags, catalogs and shown in museums internationally. Seriously, my obsession for big eyed artwork is out of control . Some of which can be seen at bigeyedart.com.
I've been writing a book about the "Big-Eyed Masters" soon to be published by Last Gasp, which I hope will be completed this year. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
In my spare time I travel the country working tattoo conventions (mostly not working) and am passionate about my new jewelry line, Salty Dame which I hope to dedicate lots of time to this year.
Oh, and recently I fulfilled a life long dream of being in a band. VERY BIG DEAL for me. Booze Hole. Reunion show 12-31-09. Only the coolest. band. ever.
