well where do we start ! the origins of the buckets are a little bit unclear and hazy , we kinda started while kev bucket was still a member of nwobhm legends the MIGHTY HELLANBACH? as a side project kev teamed up with TREVOR CAJIAO drums, TYRONE TORPEDO vocals , guitar,MICKIE DOWNEY, slap bass, KEV CHARLTON,funky guitar, and DAVE HESLOP,piano ,
we named ourself CHUCK WAGON AND THE HENDON ROUGH RIDIN RAMBLERS after a pub we used to play in the hendon area of sunderland !! it was so rough it had a boxing ring in the middle of the bar !! we rambled on through a few gigs and even played over in france or was it belgium fook div aah knaa !! then we started adding and subtacting band members which still is the case to this very day, we really became the buckets when we got a gig in south shields,s famous legion club supporting a band from shields going by the name of fasslane which is who we stole barry hopper off if im not mistaken , on guitar at that time was MAURICE BATES or mo bucket as he was called , we were just about to go on stage at the legion that night when the concert chairman of the club asked us our name and as it wasnt the chuck wagons really we all looked at each other and KEV BUCKET remembered a scene from DANNY DEENS JERKER MAGAZINE which all the members of HELLANBACH were keen fans of and thought of BESSIE the mad shopkeeper , and quick as a flash the name came about , aye mate we,re called BESSIE AND THE ZINC BUCKETS !! so there ya have it , we began around 1983_84 and are still together as a rampaging rocky horse of a band, we will be celebrating our 25 th annerversary next year and will be inviting all of the former members of the band , so we will be holding the gig at the madison square garden and thats only to fit in all the ex members in ! , you know who ya are !!! well me one finger is knacking now so thats enough for now ,
