About me: As a result of Jerry Garcia's death in 1995, the Grateful Dead, and their infamous tours, were over. A few guys from West Chester, having no tour to follow, needed to find a way to make money. Thus, in the Spring of 1996, Fennario Coffee and Tobacco was born. The original location on Gay Street(you may remember it as a pizza shop before it sold nextel phones before it was a burger joint) next to what was Brew ha-ha(which then became Creme % Sugar which then became an empty store front) and Iron Hill, was immediately welcomed for its laid back atmosphere. With plenty of couches, armchairs, old books, chessboards, storytellers, artists, college kids, dropouts, live music and cigarettes, Fennario became a home away from home for many locals. For 3 years, Fennario played host to such musical acts as The Gilroys and The Upstanders. Having no upstairs back then, bands crammed themselves in the back corner of the shop, and patrons packed the room till most poured out into the street. But in the Fall of 1999, the township was unhappy with the "abundance of teen patrons" outside, and was considered an "eye sore" by the community. So Fennario was forced out of public view and onto a side street, 111 North Church, where the shop still remains. With the new store front the shop opened their second floor a couple years later, completely dedicated to live music. Out of the original founders/owners, some started families or just moved on to other business ventures, but in the Fall of 2003, ownership changed hands completely. Still, after 11 years, Fennario maintains itself as the best fucking coffee shop on the planet.

I would marry you sweet William-O, I would marry you sweet William-O I would marry you but your guineas are too few And I fear my mama would be angry-O.
What would your mama think pretty Peggy-O, What would your mama think pretty Peggy-O, What would your mama think if she heard my guineas clink Saw me marching at the head of my soldiers.
