Due to personal and professional commitments, Best Kept Secret have reluctantly decided to hang up their various guitars, basses, mandolins, microphones, loop pedals, rain-sticks and frying pans (this might take a while....) at the end of November 2009. We formed the band in October 2003, and have had six fantastic years performing together, but feel that the time has now come to move on. However, we certainly aren't giving up music completely, and some of us are hoping to be performing again in 2010 with something slightly different.
We will of course be honouring all the bookings that we have made, but we regret that we are no longer able to accept new bookings for Best Kept Secret.
We'd like to thank all our friends and family for their support over the last few years, and we sincerely hope that you'll be able to make it to one of our remaining events. Our final gig will be at the Pen & Quill in Taunton on Saturday 21st November 2009, and we would be delighted if you could join us to mark this event and celebrate the six years of Best Kept Secret.

Best Kept Secret
May 2009
A four-piece acoustic covers band playing popular music from the 60's to present day.
Having spent some time in the South West music scene we found that many venues were unable to find a band capable of delivering an evening's entertainment where the audience could sing along while the bar staff could still hear them speak. So we created Best Kept Secret to fill the gap.
Using acoustic instruments, some hand held percussion and vocal harmonies our music can be laid back & relaxed, but also have plenty of energy to keep an audience singing along all night.
If needed we can play entirely acoustically without amplification. Or we can bring along a drummer and play electric guitars for a bigger sound. We're very versatile!
We also have a newsletter that you can join to keep in touch with us and receive details of our gigs. We send it out roughly once per month, and you can join by sending a blank e-mail to newsletter@best-kept-secret.co.uk
It's a place for bands to explain how they book shows. Comes along with news on web technologies, recording gizmos as well as music industry trends and anecdotes.
You kids going to the P+Q for our christmas knees-up then?
