Beta Blokka are an electronic dance act from Portsmouth, England.
Wade Bennett and Ian Pinnington came to meet in 2004 through south coast promotion Soundproj-x / Stimulate where both were resident djs.
In January 2005 they both enrolled to study midi sequencing and software at South Downs College in Portsmouth, where they were taught to use Reason and various other editing programs by Dave Robertson(a well respected producer,engineer and live act in the industry). This gave them the knowledge to start producing their own tracks.Wade and Ian both passed the course successfully leading to the formation of Beta Blokka.
By the end of July 2005 they had completed their first production self titled Beta Blokka. Chris Vaux of Punch Funk Records signed the track and then signed the duo to Punch Funk's dj agency.
Beta Blokka has received major support from King Unique, James Talk, Luke Dzierzek and Fergie(radio 1).
Daves Spoon's remix of Beta Blokka has had full support from the major house players including Nic Fancuilli, Mark Night and Danny Freakazoid.
A major turning point for the duo was in August 2005 when Ian played a back to back dj set with Luke Dzierzek of Silver Planet Recordings.By the end of the year Beta Blokka had been exclusively signed to the label voted James Zabiela's label of the year 2005. Tracks Evolve,Out of sight and Social Handgrenade have had support from djs across the globe.
Beta Blokka made their Punch Funk debut at Bournmouth's Opera House in March 2006 playing to a full room whilst warming up for Petrae Foy. In July 2006 the duo opened the Punch Funk stage at Gods kitchen global gathering were 40,000 people attended over the weekend.
October 2006 saw the duo play their first international gig where they flew to Slovenia to play at the Fun Factory in Ljubljana. This was on the back of remixing D. Angelovski for Tested Records.
Now in 2007 Beta Blokka are busy in the studio working on Original productions plus high profile remixes. They are due to do a digital blueprint mix for dj download which will up for download in the coming months.
With the full release of their debut single on Silver Planet due out they hope to start touring in the near future.
