Too many to mention: Corrina Hewat, Rachel Unthank and the Winterset, Sian James, Emily Smith, Eddi Reader, Kate Bush, Bjork, Sinead O'Connor, Eliza Carthy, Cerys Matthews, Catriona McKay, Wendy Stewart, Robin Williamson, Malinky, Kathryn Williams, Tom Waits, Cate Blanchett, Emily Watson, Judi Dench, Julie Fowlis, Amy Wadge, Phamie Gowe, Joanna Newsom......
Plus the wonderful musicians I have had the privilege of working with so far: Dylan Fowler, Oli Wilson-Dickson, Stacey Blythe, Helina Rees and Mark Prescott. I have learnt something valuable from them all!
"One of the delights in attending Llantrisant folk club is the variety and talent of everyone who pays at the door.
There was this stunning young woman for instance who brought out a harp and sang like a dream...She came all too rarely, more's the pity, moved to Pontypridd and got swept up in the new folk club that was starting up in Clwb y Bont.
She released a jaw-dropping treat of a mini-CD 'Rhwng Tir a Môr' (available through www.bethannia.co.uk) engineered by Dylan Fowler with Stacey Blythe on accordian and Oli Wilson-Dickson on fiddle.
So there I was, in the Muni Arts Centre in Pontypridd, the audience just waiting for Malinky, when onto the stage walked Bethan Nia and with her, caressing a fiddle was Helina Rees. Bethan and Helina took us on a magic carpet ride of sheer Welsh musicianship. They gave us old Welsh songs of beauty like 'Cariad Cywir', 'Ar lan y Môr' and 'Beth yw'r hâf i mi' but with a new elixir that breathed exciting life through Bethan's highly original arrangements.
........ a voice to die for, a confident musical knowledge and some mind altering arrangements"************

A celebration of folk-world instrumental virtuosity featuring BBC Young Folk Awards 2008 finalists One String Loose (who, being in their teens, are actually younger than Meltdown!), Koto-guitar duo KotoGo featuring the superb Japanese Koto player Hiroko Sue, melodeon maestro Guto Dafis and guitar wizard Danny Kilbride, and astonishing young jazz/folk/blues guitarist Adrian Hughes. A melting down of generations bringing together the best and the newest in Welsh (and Japanese) Folk.
