WOW. I thought I was hot shit because I know how to run the U-Scan at Kroger. I'm on MySpace 2 days and am ready to pull the trigger with my toe. What a bag of crack THIS is! I have no idea why 3 hundred strangers want to be my friends. People who KNOW me don't want to be my friends, so I guess this is as good a place as any to get some new ones. I don't know how to post/blog/what my name is, what my USER name is, what my URL is, why my name isn't coming up under any search, why my eyes itch, why I was invited to join an Escort Service in Nashville....surely THAT guy isn't REALLY my friend? I don't know what a preferred list is, who my readers are, if or why I have any, why I need safe mode, why sometimes my page is cool purple & red and other times its boring white, why all of my pictures are 'too big' to download, how to make them smaller, why I never paid attention in high school in typing class, what is going to happen when I try to 'input' my blog, why my Tivo didn't record 'Lost' last week, why I can't be a Judge on the People's Court, etc. I am a 46 year old Stand-up comic-turned drug addict-turned receptionist –turned stand-up-comic from Nashville, Tennessee. Started doing comedy in 1986 clean & sober, got pretty successful pretty quickly, relapsed in 1994, crashed my career into the ditch, alternated between using & staying clean for a few more years, then decided I had to get off the road or die. Got into radio, which I was good at but Management HATED me because I didn't play ball. I will NEVER play ball. Got clean hopefully for the last time again in 2002, and was a receptionist at The Mall at Green Hills for 3 years. I am very lucky they hired me, because I can't type and wore the same pair of black pants to work every day for three years. I still go on the road to my favorite clubs, and work at Zanies fairly steadily to keep my chops up. I did a special for CMT in May of last year called "Southern Fried Chicks" for CMT that I have been on tour with, with Etta Mae, Sonya White & Trish Suhr.
Last year I met a man I had wanted to meet for 12 years named Robert Weedman, and ten months later he proposed and March 22nd we will be getting married. Would not have met Robert if not for my Favorite band, The Gluey Brothers, who were cool enough to write a song about Robert. Stan Main also gets a major shout. Robert has a Style the likes of which I have never seen. He is the funniest, dearest, sexiest man I have ever known.
Life is very good. I am very grateful.
