A classic Headingham Music Night last night Terry; great entertainment and WHAT a fantastic headline act from Adrian - wow!!
Made all the more enjoyable by easily the best sound set-up I've played on/heard on the open mic circuit - well done mate.

Hi Terry. Not spoken for a while... hope alls well. Been mad busy with the band recently (new album out last week), but now full steam ahead and back in studio mode. Reduced prices for 2010, and chomping at the bit to get my musical brain indulged in different stuff! Keep in touch. Dave Booth :)

I see you added Daughtry as a friend - are you going to get him over the water to go to Sible?! (hah!) I seriously want to go to the states again now and catch his tour with Lifehouse. How cool is that tour going to be?

About me:
.. ........It has become one of the most popular Open Mic night around the area and here's why.... Free Buffet! No, not just that!
The night has been running for a couple of years now and has definitely gone from strength to strength attracting some great entertainers, from the beginners to the professionals.
The beauty of such a place is that anyone can come along and have a go! Some of you may have a 'party piece' that you can play or sing and need a suitable outlet to show the world what you're made of. Open Mic's are the perfect places for performers who otherwise may not fit in to the category of a 'gigging' group, so here's a great place to start, to test the 'musical water'!
We actively want to support and nurture players of every level, and welcome everyone equally... there's no room for egos here!!
I'm Terry, I run the night along with Derek Yorke, a seasoned Harmonica player and all round fine gentleman (he's 80!).
I look after all the sound equipment and have gone to quite great costs to get a good sound, not only for those who are listening but also to the stage monitoring so you can hear what you're doing up there with quality gear. To be truthful, it's become a slight obsession buying more and more stuff every month to get it sounding superb!
The night generally has 15 acts on average, all getting to do a couple of tunes and works almost on a 'first come first served' basis. If you turn up I'll get you on at some point!!
I also set aside a 20 minute slot (after that buffet!) for a Showcase spot, a chance for someone to do 4 or 5 numbers, to really show their stuff. These are generally organised/booked before the night, but do ask on the night if you want to be considered for future months.
There's a great crowd who will LISTEN to what you're playing! I do my best to keep the audience at their most appreciative (in other words I tell them to Shut Up! Politely!!)
What else do you need? A great venue, top audience, free buffet!, plenty of appreciation, cheap drinks...
Contact me through this site if you need any other info.
There's a map here on the page that will get you to us once you get into Sible Hedingham, and for all those who have that new-fangled SAT-NAV technology - here's the address....
