Hey everyone. I'm sorry to be the person to tell you this, but I've been informed that due to the church's lack of funding, the youth department, which in turn means The Basement, is shutting down. If this was about a little bit of money, I would have fundraisers but apparently it isn't. I have been given very little information on this matter, which makes it even more frustrating for me, having started this place from day 1.
Our last show will be THIS Friday, July 21st, 2006!!!
I've worked with so many amazing bands, and have met so many amazing people at these shows. Luckily, there is hope.
I've been offered a new venture. I am going to be working with Dana on the WJ Rocks shows at Walter Johnson Highschool. We're going to be taking things to the next level, to where the basement should have gone. There will be full staging, good sound, and hopefully even good lighting. The bands will be well picked. Also, I'm awaiting to hear back from other churches/places about possible show locations. Although The Basement may be over, my career as a promoter is not. I will continue to book shows in this area, and they will continue to get better and better.
