Bethia Beadman - guitar, piano Adam Richen - guitar Graham Knight - bass, bvs, piano Steve Brookes - drums
Bethia Beadman began playing in West Country pubs and on the bandstand bill at Glastonbury. She has been in Courtney Love’s band and in psychedelic folk band Circulus. She has sung in St. Peter’s Basilica, The Vatican, Rome and supported Pete Doherty in Whitechapel. Musicians and Producers she has worked with include Harvey Brown (Portishead), Mark Refoy (Spiritualised), Pedro Ferreira (The Darkness) and Mike Bennett (The Fall). She is making her first record this winter.
Bethia has a first class honours degree with distinction from King’s College Cambridge in Sanskrit, Indian Studies and Theology. She opposes the Victorian values watch on her Venus descendent and is mainly interested in the dawn of liquid gold dripping down through the disintegrating floor of this dumbfounded helpless act of being to follow the noise out the door..
"Arrows of Love song 'The Knife' featuring guest vocals from the extraordinary Bethia Beadman proved to be the highlight of the set. Clad in sparkling shoes and possessing at Diamanda Gala-esque lamenting wail, this transcended any version previously performed, never sounded so achingly fine..hypnotic viewing."The Scala, October 08 Yasmin Selena Butt e-gigs
"Bethia manages to capture many archetypes in her voice, the sorceress, the crone, the virgin, the downtrodden, royalty and nobleness, all at once." Maggie Miller, Mason Jar Productions, Los Angeles
"Distinguished by her very powerful, Marianne Fairthfull-ish voice, Courtney Love's piano player presents her own sparsely emotive, country-tinged, wilderness-straddling alt.rock in the headline slot on this bill of songwriters, acoustic bands and folktronica." Time Out April 08
"Wetter is massive, it will make Julian a star" - Alan McGee (Creation Records)
"Very impressed" - David J (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets)
"This guy has massive talent" - Boom Boom Chik

Lol, no worries! It was a busy night for me I had a bunch of friends to catch up with I hadn't seen in ages, but I chose the gig as I've wanted to see you play for ages and I've been a recluse with my novel. I didn't even see Nima until I left 5mins before the end if only to tell him he'd had his shirt on inside out during the AOL set! So you've not got amnesia and you wouldn't have spotted me during your set as I was tucked away in the back and then later on watched it with Luis on the side. I liked the fact you were pretty pissed at the end of your set, it's good to have standards.. x x
Bethia, glad I finally got to see you play live the other night, despite the dodgy sound of that place. Visually it didn't detract from the fact you're an utterly arresting sight on stage.. x x
thx 4 your msg.... pleasure... lovely unique voice n charming songs!
I like the one about Homerton Station.. . I guess you could get pretty friendly with that place, being that you have to wait a long time for a train ;)
