   About BETH IN BATTLE MODE
"Beth in Battle Mode are crafting original, angular ditties that carry a hint of big-budget predecessors like The Cars as well as smaller-budget types like Television and over-budget artists from Daft Punk to Devo. All very '80s in a sense. But too clever to be dismissed as simply 'retro'... Their likeable CD, Technical Know-How, is chock-full of all manner of melodic musings, delivered with style and humour (the latter manifested in cheeky song titles like Rembrandt Q Einstein and Everyone is in a Band). And the band defines itself as the very latest thing in pop music -- the 'garage-prog-disco power trio.'" - Ottawa Sun

"If you want a band who'll make you dance without making you feel like you're watching some obnoxious hipsters doing a bad Gang of Four impersonation, Beth In Battle Mode are exactly the band for you...The keyboards are bouncy, the guitar riffs are catchy and the drums are propulsive, and it all adds up to make Beth in Battle Mode's debut one amazingly good time." - iheartmusic.net

"This band is more fun than paintballing with Devo, and at exactly 30 minutes, the CD is exactly what the doctor ordered when it comes to a prescription for good times." - itsnotthebandihateitstheirfans.blogspot.com

"They really have a nifty blend of little parts of countless other sounds you’ve heard before, but perhaps never fused in the way that Beth in Battle Mode do it. Great evidence of this is that I was watching the show last night with eight of my closest friends, all of whom like completely different styles of music, and everyone left with nothing but praise for the band." - twowaymonologues.com

"Congratulations, 'No Feeling' might just be the catchiest song EVER." - blogTO.com podcast

In an age where many bands boast bloated memberships, Beth In Battle Mode is creating as much noise with just three members. This economical approach is also reflected in the songs: short, catchy and direct. Describing the resulting music, however, is not quite so simple, because a wide array of influences are split atomically then reconnected to form the Beth In Battle Mode sound. Are they the world's premier garage-prog-disco power trio? Is there a term yet to describe what a combination of The Who, The Cars and Daft Punk sounds like? Does anyone even care when they're having this much fun???

That was a great set at Holy Joes for NXNE. The room was sweltering, both in temperature and in kinetic garage-rock grooves. Energy laden hooks, retro-60's keys, vocal-urgency, and a reckless abandon of a dance-frat party. Well done.
So what?

That was a great set at Rancho Relaxo. A sound that's almost a convergence of musical-elements, capturing that 60's psych-garage-rock spirit, 80's inspired synth-electro-pop, and stirring soul-drenched vocals reminiscent of late 70's post-punk, eg, Pete Shelley. Whatever the case, the band is an intense-yet-catchy pastiche of energy, well-crafted songs, demonstrating that the retro-garage-rock sparkle is alive and well.

Just want to say hi from New York. I've been digging your album for a while now, and I've finally just now got the chance to speak about it. Me and my guy love the new album. We play it all the time. I play it at work :) :) :)

We always think how awesome it would be to see you live. You guys gotta play in NYC and let us know! :) Thanks!

You guys should up a YouTube video of your performances for folks who aren't fortunate enough to catch you in the T-dot.

Hey,

I'll apologize now for the mass Comment... but the good news is I don't know one darn person that got a $500 Macy's gift card.

In case you missed our Mod Club show last month, we thought we'd give you the heads up that we're playing this upcoming Saturday (November 17th) at Neutral Lounge on College St. as part of DJ Lawrence's Kensington Station night. Show time is 10:30 PM sharp.

Here's hoping you can make it out!

Amazing set at Sneaky Dees. Devastatingly catchy electro-rock, aural carnal prowess that shakes it up good. The spirit of late 60's garage-rock comes full circle. Sense the urgency. Sense the swagger.

If you think you might be able to make it send me a message and I'll put you on the guest list. We've been told that it's unlimited, so send me any other names you might want on as well.
