As a toddler, Beth was charmed by the sounds she could create at the piano. After studying informally with her father, she began formal piano lessons when she was 8 years old. By the time she was in high school, she was winning awards and placing at competitions. Beth started composing music for voice and piano at 14. She performed her first song at Bunnell High School. To date, Beth has written over 20 original pieces.
While studying music and Spanish at Temple University in Philadelphia, she taught classical piano and composition at a bilingual music school, La Asociación de Músicos Latino Americanos (AMLA). There, Beth worked alongside well-known musicians in addition to teaching Latino students of all ages. The environment at AMLA was an important stylistic influence for Beth, contributing to many of the Latin nuances in her work. Merging classical and folk elements, her songs incorporate intricate rhythms, colorful chords, and heartfelt lyrics.
Currently, Beth teaches high school Spanish and private piano in lower Fairfield County. She is a former student of Donna Breen Stamm and Dr. Joe Utterback. Beth has performed at the “NY Comedy Club” and “Don’t Tell Mama’s” in New York City, Galangal restaurant in Stamford, Las Vetas in Fairfield, and The Acoustic Café in Bridgeport. She also enjoys inline skating and painting.
Thank you Beth for your email ahwile back! I saved it so I could get back to you! To answer your questions, 1) I hired someone to promote my music to film and tv and so he has been "shopping" my music for me. 2) I have organized many charity events and it is a lot of work but well worth it if it's done right. If you have an idea of something you are wroking on I will gladly give you any advice or suggestions if you need them. Thanks again and best of luck to you :) Nice meeting you! Raquel

lol - Can't wait to hear your story! Well - I guess I shouldn't say Italians - it's men in general lol. Unfortunately, we were only in Barcelona because we really were on a tight budget. We were going to go to Alicante for two days but found out the train ride is about 51 euros. Plus, we felt like this vacation from Italy was a bit long and exhausting. Barcelona is very nice. We walked around Placa Catalunya for the most part and took one of those city bus tours. Two of my friends ran into people who were giving their tickets away so we decided to just do it. And our last night in Barcelona we had all these plans to visit museums, shops, go bar hopping, do karaoke, go to this club the Hostel guy recommended (I think it was La Rumbla - In Catalunya) but when we were getting food at Subway, one of my friends left her wallet and when we went back it was already gone. So we were trying to call her credit card company through skype from some internet, copy/print center in Subway, tried using the pay phone... and we just ended back at the hostel calling the company and her parents. She was pretty upset - especially about the London pictures in her memory disk she had put in her wallet. Thank god she took her passport out of her wallet that morning! I'll probably end up going back to Spain and other places in 6 years or so! And I'll visit all those places you mentioned! lol
Hi! I..m in Barcelona right now. We planned everything out and we were going to go to Alicante but realized we can..t afford it :( Just wondering but i think i..m seeing french in some of the signs around here. Is there like a good amount of people that know french around barcelona?
Hey Beth, It's so nice to hear from you. I'm very excited about going to Spain! But the girls I live with and I will only be there for a few days (in Barcelona and Alicante). Wish I could stay longer. We'll get some café and I can tell you all about it! -Joey
Hey Beth, how are you? I am trying to figure out how to get there as I don't drive ( on my list of things to do!) so if you want to carpool that would be cool, let me know!
Hi! Hope all is well in CT! I would have gone to your show at Caffeine but I'm in Italy. Anyway, I'm going to Spain for a couple days next month - just wondering where in Spain did you visit...
