I'm in awe !!! Fabulous blues harp playing....I have not heard anybody playing Big Walter's songs that way since I can't remember when, maybe only Carey Bell had mastered Big Walter's style as well as you do. You not only play the notes but you have got that deep tone and most important you manage to put feel to what you play, one can hear the same "dramatic, sad accents" that were a trademark of Big Walter's playing since his younger days. Harmonica player and vocalist Beth Kohnen currently plays as an amplified Chicago Blues duo with guitar maistro Rusty Zinn. Their sound is at once thoroughly traditional and utterly personal. Beth grew up in South Portland, Maine and graduated from Syracuse
University in music and art. She met Rusty in 1998 in the San Francisco East Bay while sitting in on harmonica with Grammy Award winning Steve Freund.
Beth has two well received CD's to her name and is in process of recording her third (and fourth) with Rusty.
Rusty Zinn was nominated for the very prestigious W.C. Handy Award and his own discography includes 5 critically acclaimed recordings.
