Inspired by the great jazz teachers Shiela Jordan and Jay Clayton, Beth Logan has expanded her music performance into the realm of jazz with performances in New York City, the Berkshires, St. Johnsbury Vermont Jazz Festival, the Vermont Jazz Center summer festival, and throughout Boston with pianist Harvey Diamond & Trio. Beth released her first vocal CD, “Time After Time” featuring Harvey Diamond spring, 2007. She is currently working on her next CD anticipated to be released in 2009.
Beth began her professional musical career while a student at Mt. Holyoke College, and later a participant in the Aspen Music Festival, and a member of several professional vocal ensembles in Chicago.
Beth and Pianist Harvey Diamond share many years of musical friendship that has allowed them to develop a unique and sensitive musical duet. Popular throughout greater Boston and beyond, their collective experience playing and studying with many of the jazz greats, brings together exciting and innovative interpretations of the most memorable jazz tunes.
Pianist Harvey Diamond has been one of the unsung heroes of the Boston jazz scene since the mid-1960s. he received his BA in Music Performance from San Francisco State College and continued study in Boston at the Berklee College of Music. Harvey was among Lennie Tristano's last students in New York City in the 1970s. He has performed as a soloist and group member for clubs, concerts and jazz festivals in California, Boston, New England, New York and Europe – including radio appearances. He has performed with greats such as Sheila Jordan and Art Farmer. Harvey plays with an unprecedented lyricism, a unique sensitivity to the musical text, and a sophisticated understanding of harmony and tone. Harvey is an astonishingly beautiful solo player, and is in great demand as an accompaniment for vocalists and trios.
