Often, in the face of adversity, potential will be wasted, talents squandered, and opportunities lost. Canadian hard-rock metallers, BETRAYER, have withstood the test of time to overcome obstacles and challenges. Founding members Jeff Klingbeil (Vocals, guitars) and Shawn Bastien (Drums and percussion) faced the daunting task of finding like minded-talents to complete their sound. By rounding out the group with William Lozon (Guitars) and Norm Michaud (Bass, backup vocals) the band was armed with the ammunition required for future success. Tested by the fires of numerous shows, frenzied audiences, and the tribulations of following unyielding aspirations, BETRAYER has forged a strong bond and music to call their own.
The new single, "Headed for Disaster", displays a new vision for their sound and a desire to improve upon their past exploits. Working with producer Glenn Fricker of Spectre Sound Studios, songwriter/producer Pete Palazzolo (Polar Bear music, ex-TANZEN), and Finnish mastering engineer Mika Jussila (NIGHTWISH, EDGUY), BETRAYER intends to bring a new layer of professionalism and establish a higher standard in their craft. The new single will be featured prominently on the Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles renowned “Knuckle Tracks” compilation on issue 106. Plans are underway for a potential video for the new single as well. Furthermore, while supporting and promoting their new single, BETRAYER continues to write for their next full-length album.
This hard-hitting, melodic quartet have opened for such acts and events as Iron Maiden, Helix, Dio, Paul Di'Anno (formerly of Iron Maiden), Motorhead, Anvil, Edwin, Rascals, and the Toronto Molson Indy. Engaging in an energetic stage show in front of diverse audiences has enabled BETRAYER to establish themselves amongst the multitudes in the Metal/Rock genres. BETRAYER has won many competitions, winning over crowds and judges alike with their combination of skill and showmanship.
