Surfacing from Palatine, IL, A Better Place To Be exploded onto the Chicago-land music scene showcasing vocal-driven rock that features melodic guitars and dueling voices.
In February 2008, ABP launched themselves onto the airwaves earning radio play on Chicago’s WXRT, 93.1 fm. WXRT DJ Richard Milne selected A Better Place To Be as the feature band for the Local Anesthetic Capsule during the week of February 11. The Local Anesthetic Capsule highlights an up-and-coming band that is making a name for themselves in the Chicago music scene.
While the name A Better Place To Be has only been on the local circuit for a short time, the group has made building a following their top priority. During weekly open mics, ABP averages 20-25 fans a showing.
The core band members of Kris Frye, Joe Latuszek and Tony Veschuroff have been playing together since early 2002. They established their musical roots in the indie rock band More Ways Than One, playing nearly twenty-five shows in Chicago-land while recording two EPs with producer Craig Baker at Digital Audio Designs.
In 2008, the trio of musicians produced A Better Place To Be’s first EP. The five song demo was recorded with the help of producer Dave Banks at Energy Command Studios in Arlington Heights, IL. The inspiration for the album is drawn from all types of music including The Beatles, Saves The Day, Dave Matthews, Taking Back Sunday and The Forecast.
With the addition of drummer Jeremy Solomon, ABP is working tirelessly to book shows and increase their awareness and following.

Happy Holidays! Hope you’re enjoying the season so far. Seems it has been quite some time since I spent some time on Myspace. I have been busy altering my website at www. tonycowger. com to reflect my newest efforts in the freelance and ghost writing markets and focus less on my own novel. Anyway, I hope the rest of your year is wonderful and that the new year holds all the abundance you want. If you or someone you know is in need of some writing help please send them my way at www. tonycowger. com. (For any help I receive from my Myspace friends I am offering a 10% finders fee to say thank you for helping out a friend so be sure to write and let me know in case your friend forgets to tell me. If you hire me yourself, that 10% would be taken off what you pay so, either way, you win.) I have experience in writing sales ads/presentations, non-fiction and, of course, fiction. Thanks and happy holidays!
